About Us
Family Owned & Operated
Rebecka Monez started Monez Apiaries four years ago when she learned about the massive increase in honey bee colony collapses. She enrolled in the UC Davis Master Beekeeper Program and is now UC Davis Master Beekeeper Certified. Mrs. Monez gained the knowledge required for beekeeping and now acts as a mentor and educator to other new beekeepers, including the Monez’s daughter.
Her daughter Christie decided that she really loved bee keeping and has literally taken over the operation, even though she is only thirteen years old. Christie currently attends a private christian school and has big plans for a MBA in college. She truly loves every aspect of running the bee business. Christie now has two full-time and two part-time beekeepers (plus her mom) that work for her and help maintain the three main bee yards in Stanislaus County. Christie is currently running about five hundred hives and although the company credit cards have to be in mom and dad’s names because of her young age, Christie has no problem coordinating and facilitating the staff for honey extraction and sales, soap and candle production and almond pollination. She is an extraordinary young lady who genuinely cares and is on her way to do great things for the honey bee population.
Most people don’t realize that 2/3 of our current food supply requires pollination by honey bees. With honey bees dying off at alarming rates and CCD (Colony Colapse Disorder) on the rise, it is even more important that beekeepers maintain responsible practices to maintain healthy and thriving hives. All Monez Apiary hives are registered with the Stanislaus County Agriculture Commissioner.
The Monez Apiary Promise
NO “garbage”. This means no GMO’s, parabens, fillers, additives, added water, preservatives, artificial flavors or coloring… and we never allow pesticides near our bee hives.
